Église Saint-Germain-Des-Pres

Since its founding in 543, the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church has been the epicenter of the neighborhood, and the whole world knows that the heart of Paris beats in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. It was one of the first religious buildings in Paris, the very first basilica of the capital, and ranks among the treasures of our heritage. This church is exceptional in terms of its history, architecture, and the richness of the artworks it houses. The abbey was classified as a historical monument in 1862 following the creation of the Historic Monuments Service.

The restoration of the church, which began in 2012 and was led by architect Victor Baltard, along with the works of painter Hippolyte Flandrin, showcases the virtuosity of 19th-century artists specializing in religious art. The project includes all the mural paintings, furnishings, paintings, sculptures, and woodwork, as well as the unpainted facings and medieval capitals.

A historic partner of the festival and a longstanding home for the arts, this unique venue enhances every concert performed within its walls, offering not only an exceptional setting but also a resonance that is both acoustic and emotional, allowing audiences to (re)discover great artists and their music.
