An unprecedented and passionate duet

A living legend of European jazz and a multifaceted musician, saxophonist and clarinetist Michel Portal always wants to experiment with new musical adventures. As part of the Émile Parisien quartet – who often invite him to join them – he met young pianist Roberto Negro, a rising star of the French improve scene and a fascinating virtuoso. Unanimously praised by the media (Le Monde, Télérama, etc.), he won a Victoire du Jazz Award in 2018.

After a few dates in Europe, the two musicians are reuniting for the first time in Paris around Michel Portal’s compositions. Under the starry canopy of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés Church, which will unveil its newly-renovated side aisle and nave, the friendly and audacious duet will highlight the improvisation and composition talents of its two members, blowing the audience away with their signature virtuosity and ingenuity. Emotions guaranteed!
