GUILLAUME PERRET IN SPACE WITH THOMAS PESQUET, A PARIS PREMIERE!
During his voyage into space, Thomas Pesquet took along his saxophone to play in front of one of the “16 sunrises” visible every day from the ISS dome. This is the title given in 2018 to the feature film that retraces the astronaut’s odyssey, and the soundtrack was composed by the all-round saxophonist Guillaume Perret. The film features the astronaut in dialogue with the works of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, whose writings followed him into space. An extraordinary adventure that gave a cosmic line to his opus “Elévation”: a music with aerial climates, conducive to elevation and which gives nothing away in terms of energy.
In 2022, the project evolved into a ciné-concert version of the full-length film: 90 minutes of spiritual jazz trance from elsewhere, where electronic music, groove, urban pulsations and oriental textures meet. Guillaume Perret draws on his fantastic imagination to illustrate the space odyssey of astronaut Thomas Pesquet with his weightless quartet music.
For the first time, the festival is taking over the main auditorium of the L’Arlequin cinema to bring you the Paris premiere of this ciné-concert show! Looking for beauty and weightlessness? This is the evening for you!
