NEW ALBUM CONCERT

ÉMILE PARISIEN QUARTET « LET THEM COOK »

A fusion quartet that never ceases to amaze!

Accidents only last a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes. This one has been going on for 20 years. Two decades that Emile Parisien’s quartet has been prolonging this jam session improvised in a club, at the end of which the four musicians looked at each other, as if stunned by this instant collective love at first sight.

Ripping off labels, heckling codes, their roadmap hasn’t changed, like their obsession with storytelling.

But a breath of fresh air blows over “Let Them Cook”, as the four musicians have decided to depart from the all-acoustic approach and integrate electronics. The gamble paid off, as every machine and drum machine used here integrates the stories of these compositions with astounding accuracy.

In the year of its 20th anniversary, Emile Parisien’s explosive quartet has decided to take a new route, and has reserved the premiere of this new album for the festival. “Let them cook” in the Alliance Française’s showcase theater, a promise of pure delight!

Feat. ÉMILE PARISIEN

An extraordinary drummer at the helm of a power band to be discovered without fail

A drummer in great demand, with some forty albums recorded as a sideman, a protégé of the great Henri Texier and co-leader of the group Flash Pig, Gautier is now at the helm of this highly-anticipated album.

His playing is imbued with a sensitive, pure, nuanced and percussive swing that places Gautier among the best skin caressers in France. La Traversée plunges us, through an original repertoire, into a universe tinged with poetry and mystery. And to make the concert even more special, he invites saxophonist Émile Parisien, also featured on the album, to join him for a few tracks.
A world premiere for this dreamlike musical journey.

Gautier Garrigue: drums / Federico Casagrande: guitar / Maxime Sanchez: piano / Florent Nisse: double bass
