CONCERT CREATION EVENT

SOPHIE-VÉRONIQUE CAUCHEFER-CHOPLIN & LAURENT COULONDRE
“THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FILM MUSIC ON ORGAN, BETWEEN IMPROVISATION AND THE SACRED”
with AURÉLIE TROPEZ & JULIE SAURY

Cinematic odyssey between the Great Organ and the Hammond organ

Two organ luminaries meet for the first time to perform the finest film music: the charismatic Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin, titular of the Grand Orgue de Saint-Sulpice, one of the finest and largest organs in Europe, and Laurent Coulondre, a spellbinding Hammond organist who has been touring the international jazz scene for over ten years.

The two artists, who met last December, share incomparable virtuosity, boundless curiosity and an immense need to share. The challenge is set: they will bring to the heart of one of Paris’s most beautiful churches the music that has so often enchanted our ears: Le Mépris (George Delerue), Dernier domicile connu (François de Roubaix), The Mission, The Professional (Ennio Morricone)… All in the spirit of jazz, i.e. mixing improvisation and solos in turn, and inviting clarinettist Aurélie Tropez and drummer Julie Saury.

The dialogue between the Great Organ and the Hammond Organ creates an indescribable magic, as witnessed by the memorable concert of last year’s edition.

This new and unique encounter, blending jazz and classical music with power and delicacy, promises a grandiose and memorable experience!

A concert created and presented exclusively for the festival, during which the playing of the two organists will be filmed and broadcast live on a giant screen in front of the audience.

Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin: great organ / Laurent Coulondre: Hammond organ / Aurélie Tropez: clarinet / Julie Saury: snare drum
