Summer me, Winter me

Nouvel album

UNIQUE FESTIVAL OPENING CONCERT

STACEY KENT TRIO
FEAT.
STRING QUARTET AKILONE

WHEN ONE OF THE FINEST JAZZ VOICES MEETS THE POETRY OF A QUARTET: EMOTION GUARANTEED!

Her immense talent and gentle, bewitching voice have been seducing audiences the world over for twenty-seven years. Last November, American singer Stacey Kent released her fourteenth album, “Summer me, winter me”. For this concert, she will be offering songs from this little gem, as well as some of her favorite repertoire, sung in English, French and Brazilian.
With all the sensitivity that fills each of her concerts with wonder, she summons Antonio Carlos Jobim, Michel Legrand, Jacques Brel or Richard Rogers, to offer her audience the most beautiful songs of her career as a gift.
Stacey Kent will open this 23rd edition of the Festival Jazz à Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris in style, accompanied for the first time by the Akilone String Quartet. Winners of the First Grand Prize and the Proquartet Prize at the Bordeaux International Competition, these four talented young women have enjoyed a distinguished international career, having grown up with eminent chamber musicians such as Hatto Beyerle, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Johannes Meissl, Mathieu Herzog and the Ebène Quartet. Elegant playing and a generous sound will enhance Stacey Kent’s trio.

It’s been fifteen years since the festival took up residence in the magnificent Italian-style Odéon theater, imagining and promising unforgettable musical encounters – and we’re celebrating!
This exceptional evening, where poetry and sensitivity will be at their peak, is already shaping up to be a promise kept.

Stacey Kent: vocals / Art Hirahara: piano / Jim Tomlinson: saxophone
Magdalena Geka: violin I / Elise De-Bendelac: violin II / Perrine Guillemot: viola / Lucie Mercat: cello
